Under the Weather

…a coffee shop journal…

I am a bit under the weather today- I agreed to open the coffee shop so Shana could sleep in… I do believe it might be me that needs to sleep in.

It started a few days ago that foggy feeling like something was shifting inside of me. You don’t want to say out loud I think I am coming down with something just in case it is true that we create our own realities.

But alas… last night as I finished getting glamping tents ready for a quick visitor to drop in and I sat down by the bon fire, the full moon shining down on me ~a deep sigh of relaxation came over me, it was a warm perfect weather night and I began to feel that swimmy, stuffy head, better buy a case of Kleenex, if I could only sneeze feeling!

I left Rick there by the fire to greet the guests when they arrived and went back downtown to our loft and attempted to lie down when it all moved into my head causing much whizzing and the inability to breathe.

As I lie there I thought about how I NEVER get sick and yet here I am the second time this year—I began to think about Louise Hay the woman who wrote numerous books on healing oneself. One in particular was Heal Your Body it’s a short~sweet~to the point~ book on what really ails you. One can look up any symptom and read what is going on mentally which usually sooner or later translates itself emotionally and finally physically. Of course I could only lie in a bed so long thinking about that book and wondering where on earth I had put in in the unpacking process. Louise believes there are mental patterns that create dis-ease in the body. Colds as it turns out~of course ~ means there is too much going on at once-mental confusion- now far be it for me to have too much going on right???!!!!! the remedy is a mantra of sorts that goes something like this…… I allow my mind to relax and be at peace-clarity and harmony are within me and around me. All is well.

And it is with this thought I will end my little journal writing for today……enough said.

a bit of trivia for ya…..as I wrote the title to this writing my mind began to wander ….what on earth does that mean ‘under the weather’ here it is…….

During the days when ships were powered by sail, the captains log documented everything that happend during the day. As sickness could spread rapidly on a ship, there were often times where the number of sailors that were ill exceeded the space provided in the log to record their names. During these times, the excess names of the sick were recorded in the next column, which was reserved for the weather conditions of the day. Thus, it was not unusual for an ill sailor to be listed “under the weather”.
